The Story
Sefton CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services) provides vital support to children and young people in Sefton, ensuring they have access to resources and services to improve their mental health and well-being. With a focus on collaboration and youth participation, Sefton CAMHS is committed to empowering young people to have a voice in shaping the services that matter most to them.
Central to this mission is the Camhelions, a participation group based at Alder Hey in Liverpool. The Camhelions work to ensure that children and young people’s opinions are heard, driving meaningful service improvements and creating positive change. As part of this initiative, the Camhelions frequently collaborate on creative projects that reflect their vision and values.
In 2023, Sefton CAMHS partnered with the Camhelions to develop a new logo that embodies their mission and inclusivity while incorporating the creativity and input of the young people they serve.
The Project
We worked closely with Sefton CAMHS and the Camhelions to design a vibrant and meaningful logo that represents the organization’s work and its commitment to youth participation. The logo was completed in late 2023, blending professional design expertise with the creativity of the young people involved.
Key elements of the project included:
- Collaborative Design – Partnering with the Camhelions participation group to ensure the logo reflects the voices, ideas, and values of the young people.
- Incorporating the Camhelion Logo – The iconic Camhelion logo, symbolizing the participation group, was seamlessly integrated into the design to honour their contributions.
- Vibrant Symbolism – The colourful tree represents growth, connection, and the diversity of the children and young people supported by Sefton CAMHS.
- Inclusive Representation – Ensuring the design resonates with both young people and professionals, reflecting the collaborative ethos of the service.
The Result
The new Sefton CAMHS logo is a bold and vibrant representation of their work, incorporating the voices of the young people they support through the Camhelions. The colourful tree symbolizes growth, resilience, and community, while the inclusion of the Camhelion logo highlights the importance of youth participation in shaping mental health services.
This collaborative project not only resulted in a meaningful and visually impactful logo but also strengthened the connection between Sefton CAMHS and the young people they serve. The logo now stands as a proud emblem of their shared mission to improve mental health services for children and young people in Sefton.
