The Story
The Liverpool CAMHS Whole School Approach (WSA) Directory is an online resource designed to support Liverpool schools in promoting mental health and emotional well-being among students, parents, and staff. The directory offers a comprehensive range of services, including:
- Parent/Carer Support: Resources and workshops aimed at assisting parents and carers in supporting their children’s mental health.
- School Staff Training & Support: Professional development opportunities for school staff to enhance their understanding and ability to support student well-being.
- Whole School Approach & Workshops: Guidance and tools to help schools implement a holistic approach to mental health, including audits and monitoring.
- Resource Hub: A collection of materials and information to aid in the development and maintenance of mental health initiatives within schools.
This initiative underscores Liverpool’s commitment to fostering a supportive educational environment prioritising mental health and well-being.
The Project
The Liverpool Learning Partnership sought to create a user-friendly, centralised platform that would enable schools to easily access and navigate the array of mental health resources available. The project, completed in early 2023 over a three-month period, focused on:
- Intuitive Design: Developing a website layout that allows users to effortlessly find and utilize resources pertinent to their needs.
- Comprehensive Directories: Organising services into clear categories such as Parent/Carer Support, Staff Training, and Whole School Approaches to streamline access.
- Accessibility: Ensuring the platform is accessible to all users, including those with disabilities, to promote inclusivity.
- Dynamic Content: Incorporating sections for news, events, and updates to keep the school community informed about the latest developments in mental health support.
The Result
The Liverpool CAMHS WSA Directory website now serves as a vital tool for schools across Liverpool, providing centralised access to essential mental health resources and support services. The platform’s organised structure and user-friendly interface facilitate the effective implementation of whole-school approaches to mental health, contributing to the overall well-being of students and staff. By collaborating closely with the Liverpool Learning Partnership, we ensured the website aligns with their objectives and effectively serves the educational community.
