The Story

The Knowsley Social Work Academy Children’s Social Care Induction and Progression Programme is designed to support new social workers and managers as they begin their journey within Knowsley Council. The program aims to provide a welcoming and structured introduction to the Council, ensuring that every team member feels valued and prepared for their role.

By offering a comprehensive induction process and opportunities for professional development, the program helps new staff understand their roles, responsibilities, and available resources. With a focus on continuous growth, the program fosters confident and capable professionals dedicated to improving outcomes for children and families in the Knowsley area.

The program includes:

  • Corporate Induction – Covering key organizational information and expectations for all new employees.
  • Role-Specific Induction – Tailored tasks and training for social workers within Children’s Social Care.
  • Probationary Support – Structured performance reviews at weeks 4, 10, and 16 to monitor progress, address challenges, and identify training needs.
  • Comprehensive Resources – Access to tools like the Corporate Induction Programme booklet and Bertha, an internal portal providing essential information on pay, IT, HR, Occupational Health, and staff benefits.

The Project

The Knowsley Social Work Academy approached us to develop a modern, accessible website that would serve as the central hub for their induction and progression program.
